This week for Small Business Saturday, I picked one of my favorite small delicious eateries called Mitzie's Jerk.
It's a Caribbean restaurant in Etobicoke offering roti, jerk chicken and pork, oxtail, curry goat and more. They also offer catering services at very affordable rates. Very homestyle and very personalized too!
I've met Mitzie a couple of times and always enjoy chatting with her - she's definitely created an environment that makes it feel like a friend is making you lunch :).
I love Mitzie's Jerk!
Psst! Remember to join them on their Facebook Page!

A little taste of Serbia
![]() |
| Bonimi Restaurant |
The other day a client of mine took me to this wonderful family owned Serbian style restaurant out in Etobicoke called Bonimi. The food was quite delectable despite the portion sizes being pretty large. Apparently Serbians eat a lot of red meats and pork which for those who know me, I don't so I thought I would be stuck with menu options but was pleasantly surprised.

| Shopska Salad ($6.75) |
I trusted him to go ahead and order my meal for me and so he ordered their signature Shopska Salad ($6.75) which is filled with fresh tomatoes, cucumber, green pepper, onion and lotssss of feta cheese. It sound simple doesn't it? But I'm telling you it was delish! The only note I'll make is that if your aren't an onion fan, this salad will probably overwhelm your palate so maybe ask them to cut back. Same goes with the cheese although I hear it's the feta that makes the Shopska :).
I also had the Grilled Chicken Panini ($9.25) and he had the classic Vienna Schnitzel ($10.25) on a home style bun with cream cheese.
You should check it out, it's just by outside the subway on Bloor Avenue [at Islington Avenue]. Visit their website to check out their menu.

To Market! To Market!
There's this little market close to my place that I love. The funny part of the story is I don't know the name of the store. It's on Danforth Ave. and Broadview Ave. [northeast corner]. They always have the crunchiest veggies at good prices. The store owners are so friendly too!

Red Guitar [#18]
I needed a distraction so I got a guitar! I got this little beauty from the music store in Kensington Market. To be completely honest, I have no idea what the name of the store is- all I can say is it's the only music instrument store in the market.
Developing my creativity is always something I'm up for doing. Can't wait to learn all the songs in the whole wide world :)

Super Moon
Some friends invited me over today for lunch. The food was well done the company was even better. I really enjoy spending time with these guys. Both of them. They are such a down to earth couple and yet so dynamic. Definitely friends to keep :).
Their condo view is to die for!! They live right by the lake at Harbourfront and have no building blocking them in any direction. To give you a sense, here is a photo taken tonight from their place of the super moon.
Please tell me this isn't breathtaking?

Dinner at Spuntini
I had a lovely dinner today at Spuntini in Yorkville. Very cozy space with an warm ambiance. The company? Couldn't have asked for better company.
I had a ceaser salad to start and for my entree the Salmone Alla Griglia - Grilled Atlantic salmon filet dressed with fresh lemon juice, white wine and butter. It was served with potatoes and asparagus. Finally my favorite part of any meal - dessert was a light tiramisu layered in run and kalhula with marscapone cheese. Delish!

My 1st flowers from Chinatown East
So I love plants and have a couple. They just inject life in a city apartment especially when it's just you and the tele that speak.
I love flowers because they're so pretty. The details on each petal, they have a way of making you smile.
Since Noodles (my pet Siamese Fighting Fish) died right before the holidays, I figured a habit of getting flowers for myself might always be a good idea. So, I bought my first flowers in Chinatown Broadview today!
The funny part? I just don't know what they're called and my florist (who only speaks Mandarin), couldn't tell me either lol.
